We had a wonderful stay at Hecklers Cottage, Barnard Castle! The cottage was just off the main high street, with shops, pubs, cafes and supermarkets a couple minutes walk away. The cottage itself was fantastic, tastefully decorated and much larger than we expected … Perfect for 4 adults and 2 kids. The communication between the host administrator Charlie, was fast, efficient and always informative. I would highly recommend a stay at this beautiful cottage if your are looking for accommodation in or around Barnard Castle.

Poor garden facilities when booking was insured that we would be able to host a bbq in the garden. Very unkempt , broken furniture and dirty old bbq. House basic - very expensive for what it was

A review for 'Breckon Cottage' on Pier Lane, Whitby! Location wise - this is most likely the closest you will get to the 'River Esk' and the vast array of shops, pubs and chip shops (is it noisy? - not at all - it is surprisingly very quiet as 'Breckon Cottage' is up on the cobbled 'Pier Lane'. The cottage itself was lovely, inviting and warm. Downstairs - there is a large kitchen and a living room which we found to be very comfortable nicely furnished. Upstairs - two bedrooms and a shower / toilet room. No complaints at all. My wife and children really enjoyed the cottage and the location as it was so central to what Whitby had to offer. Breckon Cottage to: -Pier Rd (Shops, Pubs and Chip shops) less than 1 minute -Dracula Experience - less than 1 minute walk -Beach / Battery Parade / West Pier - less than a 5 minute walk Really lovely place

Our apartment at Whitby was not what we expected unfortunately. The apartment had all modern fixtures, beautiful views and close to Whitby center. We had a lift to our 3rd floor apartment and check in was easy, The hosts responded fairly quickly. I really hate leaving bad reviews, however our stay was not cheap so expected more cleanliness in what is a beautiful apartment. My first problem was the waiver charge of either £25 none refundable or £250, refundable but with a £10 admin fee, but it takes 14 days to get refunded, this was not mentioned upon booking, which it should be. Our check in time was 4pm so I asked if there was a chance to check in early, the reply was that due to there high level of cleaning standards this was not possible, which was fine by us. Upon entering the apartment everything seemed fine untill we checked what was in the draws, (photos attached) this was very disappointing 😞. Also the dust was thick and the lounge/ Kitchen floor was dirty. I understand that this is down maybe to the previous people that left dirty utensils and microwave, but you would have thought the cleaners would check and at least dust and wash the floors. I received a message the last night of our stay to say check out was 9am, yet when I booked check out was stated to be 10am, I messaged and did get a quick response to say they had checked and it was 10am. Such a shame on the negative points as sandcastle apartment is done to a high spec with beautiful views, however for the price we paid it was disappointing.

This accomodation is not suitable for young children or less able bodied people. Outside the front door is a pot hole my wife twisted her ankle on after coming down the flight of steps There was a flight of stairs leading to accomodation which are quite steep. In the living room there are two windows. The one with a ledge which my 18 month old grandson kept climbing up on and the other the sofa was in front of which again fascinated him to climb over to get to window. Because of the danger of windows and not being able to leave them open it got uncomfortably hot as we were above a very busy launderette and we could not leave landing door open to get a breeze due to the stairs. The bin provides was more of an open large tub which was not hygienic and my grandson kept trying to pull rubbish out.

I love staying here, i have stayed in apartment one and two. They are so helpful when ever you need them. The apartment is always clean and tidy on our arrival and there is always things supplied that we will need.

The flat was lovely and as described. Checkin was easy. However some of the reviews said there was not enough kitchen utensils etc. so I messaged in advance to ask if this problem had been fixed, Host & Stay said it had been fixed. When we got there there was only 4 forks, not enough small plates and very scant saucepans etc. Although I wasn’t planning on cooking a three course meal at the property a fork each for breakfast would have been expected and convenient. I bought knives and forks and left them at the property. Host & Stay must not ignore the feedback of their customers.

A fabulous house in a great location in Liverpool. The house was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Our host was very responsive and looked after us very well. We even had a garage to tuck the car away. I cannot recommend highly enough.
