Just perfect. Everything from the excellent Comms after booking, right through to end of our stay was as good as it gets. The cottage is set in a nice little village and was tastefully furnished throughout with comfortable sofas and a kitchen with all you need ( except maybe a big saucepan for boiling pasta etc ). Spotlessly clean when we arrived. The beds were so comfy I wanted to stay forever. Easy parking for two cars at side of property. We will be booking again if available.

Clean when arrived but was a musky smell that went away after a couple hours with window open. Only down side is the fact there was no freezer. Everything else was amazing ,bed was comfy. Overall a amazing stay and will be comming back again

We had a lovely stay at Bakehouse Yard. Beautiful decor with a very comfortable king size bed and lovely waterfall shower. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need . The stairs are a little steep, but this is expected in a cottage property. Location is central, perfect for shops, bars and restaurants.

Had a lovely stay. Everything there we needed. A great spot for food/shops/ pubs and the beach. Only thing that was a bit tired was the bit of dirty carpet just inside the lounge. Had an issue with boiler but great service and sorted straightaway. Many thanks

One star is pretty generous considering the experience we have had. Firstly the accommodation was abysmal which meant that we didn’t even stay at the property, we booked an alternative with a different provider. After 2 complaints, we were told that we would be getting the smallest refund known to man only to rub salt on the wound, we haven’t received it. You can ring this company and email them as much as you like, they won’t make any attempt at calling you and trust me if it means they owe you money they make it extremely difficult. 2 months after our stay and still no refund only to be told numerous times it will be in within 3-5 days… I would not use host and stay again and urge others not too. Use booking.com or Airbnb as we have never had a problem with either, what a shocking excuse for a holiday provider. We are £350 worse off!

My experience with Host & Stay was truly shocking and upsetting from start to finish. What was supposed to be a relaxing stay turned into an extremely stressful and distressing ordeal. When I arrived at the property, I was immediately alarmed by the condition—it was completely misrepresented in the listing. The unit was attached to the owner’s house, which was never disclosed, and separated only by a thin, makeshift wooden door. There was zero privacy, and noise came through clearly. The place was filthy—cobwebs, dust everywhere, greasy kitchenware, a horrible smell, and a broken front door lock that left me feeling totally unsafe and exposed. The bathroom couldn't be locked, and the bedroom was only divided from the kitchen by a dusty curtain. It was not only uncomfortable—it was uninhabitable. I called customer service immediately, desperate for help. Instead of understanding the urgency, they brushed off my concerns as mere “preference issues” and told me they needed 7–14 days to investigate. There was no offer of relocation, no sense of urgency, no support. Just an empty promise to get back to me later. Faced with this dirty, unsafe, and dishonest environment, I made the only reasonable choice—I left. I couldn’t risk staying the night in such a place, especially when the door couldn't even lock. And yet, Host & Stay later blamed me for not staying—for not waiting around in a place that made me feel unsafe and unwelcome, just so they could “process a solution” over the next 48 hours or more. It’s absolutely unfair and demeaning to be told that it was my fault for not staying in those conditions. I was treated like an inconvenience instead of a guest. They later offered only a 50% refund, refusing to take full responsibility and continuing to act as if I had done something wrong. Even my name was misspelled in their emails, showing a total lack of care or respect. This entire experience made me feel ignored, blamed, and exploited. I lost time, energy, money, and peace of mind—while the host and Booking.com stood by each other, completely disregarding the customer. I have never felt so unsupported and dismissed. I strongly warn others: Avoid Host & Stay. If anything goes wrong, you’ll be on your own—and then they’ll blame you for it.

The cottage was lovely, very clean and welcoming. We all had lovely sleeps on the comfortable beds The place is in a beautiful village with 3 pubs and 2 tea rooms and easily accessible to the cottage. There are many walks to enjoy and the walk to the waterfall is a must do. Thank you for our great stay

An amazing stay at The Stables, hosts were very communicative throughout the booking process and when we arrived we were very happy with the accomadation, very clean. Had everything you need and the views were outstanding. We will definitely be paying another visit. Not one to miss.

We stayed at Havelock Place. Great location, not far from all the bars & shops. Although initially we struggled for a parking space, the parking is free and we only had to walk a few minutes to the apartment. Facilities were good. Would recommend providing instructions for the oven/cooker as it was constantly beeping at one point and we weren’t sure how to stop that without turning the wall switch off. My only other negative would be that the smaller bedroom has no ventilation and was very stuffy, so I would recommend a fan of some sort as my friends had to sleep on the sofa over this hot weekend! Overall it was a lovely stay! Thank you

Bath Street Saltburn is a lovely spacious, clean and modern property. Great value for money. Really close to all amenities and the beach front. A pretty enclosed back yard which is dog friendly! Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend

Accommodation was very good, very close to local amenities, beds where very comfortable and accommodation very spacious and had few added touches, the roof top terrace was a great added feature. Only thing that wasn’t great was the cleanliness it did let it down, floors not clean and bathroom had smear marks on walls and shower unit, and shower itself needed good clean, the added touch of hand soaps in the shower was empty and the ones near sink where left uncleaned around and clogged. Host and stay very good, kept undated and responded quickly, would use these again.
