Excellent place to stay overall. The place was spacious and clean and the addition of some essential supplies like and tea and coffee was a nice touch.

This could have easily been a 4-5 star review however we were unfortunately incredibly let down. Firstly we were only given the postcode of the address, instead of telling us the number and name of the house the apartment is located in, so it was a bit of a struggle to find at first but once we were in it was a beautiful apartment (some scuffs and scrapes but still lovely). There were 3 of us staying there and we were only provided with 2 towels, 1 toilet roll and limited body wash. After hunting through the place for the bedding for the sofa bed (located in a under the sofa drawer by lifting the right side of the sofa up) no directions were given for that you’ve got to find them yourself we found a duvet and pillows but no sheets, duvet cover or pillow cases. When we messaged to tell them we were missing a towel and bedding instead of offering to supply them they insisted they were in the apartment. They weren’t. We looked in every nook and cranny and every drawer etc in the place. We told them this and they basically called us liars and didn’t offer any solution. They said we could file a complaint but the link they sent us had been removed so we couldn’t even do that. Unfortunately the toilet smells of drains after just one flush. It was just a really unfortunate turn of events because if the supplies and customer service had been better this would have been a really lovely stay but as it stands, it was not.

Very spacious accommodation. Great views of the countryside. Comfortable beds and on the whole well equipped. Toaster could do with being replaced and sinks in bathrooms need plugs. Very helpful owner on site so small issue with hot tub sorted quickly. Enjoyed meals out at local pubs and visited Belsay Hall Cragside and Gibside.

Meet some friends from the north so we meet in the middle. Excellant location quiet and comfy but a short level walk into town. There was plenty of parking around as well

Stayed in the budget room 3 nights but no way felt budget, room was very clean and there was great levels of attention to detail including fresh towels, nice smelling soaps and shampoos,comfy bed. Felt very relaxing and had Access to a communal kitchen which was fully stocked with everything you need to make a meal. I was raised in Redcar and the location was fantastic right on the seafront and straight into town for a night out, with permit provided for parking. Had no faults with the place, very quiet felt very secure and smelt great throughout and a very reasonable price considering the quality of the entire stay.

The pictures must have been taken when first refurbished it doesn’t look like that now couldn’t stay there had to book alternative accommodation you need new cleaners

Stayed at a property through Host & Stay in Whitley Bay, right on the coast - can’t recommend enough! Super communication, everything as described and the property was in a super location. Will defo use again!

We’ve just returned from a 5 night stay at the Lodge at Alderfen View. 2 adults 1 child and our dog. The lodge is nestled in a beautiful area just outside Wroxham next to a larger property which shares a driveway with the lodge. The lodge itself is small, however it was perfectly fine for us and had everything we needed. From the moment we booked the communication with the hosts was brilliant and they were always on hand to offer help and answer any questions. There are lots of lovely walks that we enjoyed, perfect to spot the local wildlife and regular deer that visited the garden which was a highlight! The lodge was clean and well maintained. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We have a booking in Saltburn due to start very soon. Despite me asking several times over the last couple of months since Host and Stay took my payment in full, I have still not received a receipt or formal confirmation of the booking. I’ve been told twice that this was due to an ‘IT glitch’ and that I’d get everything the next working day and twice nothing has happened. I’m posting this review in the hope that Host and Stay will actually provide proper confirmation and info on how to get into the property we have paid for before we are actually due to get in 🤞

Had a lovely stay at Sandpipers cottage in Baconsthorpe, Norfolk. The cottage was clean & comfortable & perfectly located in a sleepy Norfolk village ideal for exploring the area. The price was very reasonable booking direct with Host & Stay & would definitely recommend booking with them.
