DONT STAY AT THIS PLACE THEY WILL TRY ROBBING YOU we stayed at this place from a monday to thursday morning and didn’t enjoy it as much as we should have. the moment we got inside we smelt a very disgusting smell. it was as if someone had puked up near the entrance and hadn’t been cleaned properly . this wasn’t a good start but we just did some spray and tried carrying on with our trip. when we got to the bedrooms we realised there was no locks on the door which meant we didn’t have full privacy but we didn’t mind too much as we knew each other. When we did decide to go to bed they were very uncomfy in most rooms and we struggled to sleep. these were some of the little problems we faced but the main ones were when we left the place. the customer service is absoulately disgraceful even before we went on the trip we rang them and the lady speaking from the company was speaking to us in a very awful way which made us all feel disturbed and uncomfortable . when we did get home the company started to send us pictures of things which they told us we had broke but we knew for sure that we hadn’t broken any except the ironing board which was already half broken whilst we were using it. to say it’s a very expensive house some of the things that were included inside there you would of found in a council estate house where the people are on benefits and are struggling to buy decent equipment. They tried making us pay extra and still are trying to get more money out of us for things which were already broken. one of the other things they said is we damaged the chair because we left it outside but when i checked it there was no damage on there just the smallest piece had been abit damaged but over time these chairs do get damaged so that is normal. do not ever stay at this house even though it looks very nice you will not enjoy it a single bit. also whilst we were there 2 showers had issues with them and they had to send an engineer which came at 8 in the morning and woke some of us up. they should have sorted that shower before we got there as it stopped us from using it for a day or two. they still have our £1000 deposit and haven’t still given it back and they also want more money on top. if we don’t see our depo in the next couple of days i will have to get my legal team involved for the way these guys have treated us and made us feel. i will also let my followes know on my social media platforms how we have been mistreated and been felt with by this company. if you don’t want this to happen i advise you guys to give our depo back and to stop accusing us of breaking things which we haven’t even done

Host & Stay- Alma is a beautiful apartment for a family holiday. An excellent location and pocket-friendly apartment. Everything in the apartment worked perfectly, and the staff were very friendly; they kept checking on us to ensure we were comfortable. If we choose Manchester for our next holiday, we shall stay at Host & Stay - Alma. I strongly recommend Host & Stay- Alma.

We booked through Host & Stay for a recent trip, the communication was excellent and the website link received with key bits of information was exceptionally helpful. I am however, deducting 2 stars because what is not made clear when you book is that you are responsible for either paying a £25 non-refundable deposit or providing a holding deposit of £200 with a £10 non-refundable admin fee. Whilst they're not big sums of money it really left a bitter taste when you've already paid out a significant sum for a holiday - why not incorporate the fees in with the holiday amount if they need to be paid?? It didn't make any sense for this to be an additional fee and you're also told that if you don't pay then they don't release any further details of the holiday. Didn't sit well especially when it wasn't clearly communicated at time of booking.

Such a beautiful cottage we stayed in, so would definitely recommend! Only downsides were that there was a significant lack of basic items - no freezer, tea towels, coffee, body wash, shampoo/conditioner which was unexpected. We also experienced water dripping from the kitchen ceiling whenever we had a shower (and we weren't having significantly ling showers!). That said, the cottage was so cosy yet minimal, that we had a lovely time and would definitely return :) It was also super easy to check in and Host & Stay were incredibly quick with their responses, so all in all, a very good experience.

Great location for exploring Liverpool, especially the Baltic triangle. Although neighbourhood is busy, the flat is quiet.

Sandpipers is in a good location for exploring the local area and very close to the A1. The host and stay guidebook was useful for locating the property and had good recommendations of things to do in the area etc. Modern bathrooms, good sized garden and parking was easy.

First and foremost, the accommodation was absolutely immaculate. What I also loved was that it was more than fully equipped: obviously, it had the standard kettle, toaster, microwave, oven but it also had a coffee machine, milk sachets in the fridge, blenders, things needed to bake, a washing machine and dryer. The additional DVD player (with films), a full bookcase, colouring equipment, Netflix, children's books and games was fabulous. Sofas and beds were comfy, bedding and towels were of excellent quality and the two bathrooms were much appreciated. The onsite parking, along with the handy location means we will definitely stay again. There is scaffolding on the building next door which is unsightly and prevents 2 cars fitting in, but for us, this wasn't a massive problem. Communication with the letting team was excellent and replies to queries we had were speedily answered. The one issue we had was that the walls are paper thin and the noise from the bar/apartments behind was so loud I could even hear it through ear plugs. All in all, a fabulous holiday apartment with everything you could possibly need.

Be warned. They charge you a £10 fee for the privilege of paying a £250 damages deposit, on top of paying the entire non refundable fee for your stay up front the moment you book.

This was a really well placed house to stay in, walking distance into Whitby town centre, the beach etc. Easy to get to the cinder track for longer walks and a good spot for the museum, park and other attractions. Lots of space for us all.

A wonderful little cottage, Harbour cottage in Staithes was clean, modernised but still 'cottagey' and ideally located near the bottom end of Staithes. Parking is an issue in Staithes because, even though you are allowed 40 mins free parking to unload etc, it is hard to get a space. Apparently it is possible to pre-book a space. The main issue with the cottage, however, was the foisty smell, which may be a problem with these cottages. Also, put towels down on the floor if you have a shower because the shower door is certainly not watertight. The hot water in the sinks only seems to get hot if you don't put the tap on full. It was nice to get a message from host and stay in the evening telling us that we didn't have to vacate the next day until 12pm and not 10am as previously stated.

I can't help feeling some of the negative comments on this apartment are unnecessarily petty. As long as you have sensible, realistic expectations and don't live in Windsor Castle you'll love this place as much as we did. It's a great apartment (the magnificent Zetland Hotel that had its own railway platform for its guests, remnants of which are still there) in a beautiful location and an ideal place to stay if you want to explore the town and surrounding area. We had a minor hold up in collecting the keys (our fault!) but after one phone call it was sorted out within ten minutes. Smashing.
