Booking, property, arrangements, etc were all fine. However, I felt increasingly irritated by this company. Firstly, because extra costs were incurred for damage waiver, which had to be paid for the booking to go ahead. They also requested what I consider to be an unreasonable amount of personal data and then bombarded me with an excessive number of emails: 7 at the time of booking and continued until the end of the stay.

We had a wonderful stay at a Host & Stay property in Scarborough - great apartment and 5* service from Host & Stay throughout. Would highly recommend.

Had a really lovely time here. Hot tub and sauna were easy to use, and the property is walking distance from the park and ride for easy access to Whitby. Clean and well presented with good kitchen facilities and plenty of pots, pans etc. Horses next door adorable 👍

Stayed for four days at Maggies in Wall in Northumberland and I would recommend this cottage wholeheartedly, not only is the cottage immaculate but the village is one of the friendliest I have come across.

We had an utterly distressing and traumatising time because of the faults of this property. While we were sleeping, somebody had accessed the property through the back door, stolen my car keys and car. This was due to the back door being faulty. When we looked at the reviews for the property, we had seen that two other guests had complained about this issue and obviously it had not been fixed. This meant we were stuck two hours away from our home with no car and no means of getting back. When we contacted host and stay about this they were very unsympathetic and only seemed to be interested in getting us out of the property for 10am so that they could get ready for the next guests! I had to instruct the police to ring the company and tell them that we had to stay longer as part of the investigation. I feel sorry for the next people staying here because now there are burglars at large who know full well they can access the property! Stay clear!

The apartment was clean, tidy, warm and spacious. If I was to suggest anything it would be wooden flooring for ease of dealing with wet wellies, coats, towels and doggie paws. There is a pub/nightclub downstairs and unfortunately you can hear the echos of music until around 0130 am.

I wouldn't use them again. As a customer I was over communicated at to the point it's driven me to write this review when normally I d stick to my "if I haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything" policy. They take a huge security deposit. Equal or more than the cost to stay. They also don't return it for a substantial, I would say entirely disproportionate and unreasonable amount of time. Everything feels very onerous, commercial and just maeh. The whole experience is a bit like the relationship you d have with a debt collector. You will be hounded for deposits and reviews. It's so low trust and leaves you feeling yucky and like a cash pig. I don't know how they've messed it up so badly, feels like a property management company and behaves like one. My honest review would be to avoid and help protest this sub par, profiteering nonsense by not spending your money here. It's the worst case example of Airbnb.

Firstly the company helped themselves to a £10 charge from my bank account, to verify me- after the reservation had been taken and then demanded a £250 deposit. We arrived to a property that was covered in mould, no hot water, cooker not working and was absolutely filthy. We informed them and they simply offered to come and clean the next day! We was only staying 2 days so on day 2, after my husband and son had breathing difficulties through the night due to the damp, we decided to check out and leave. We sent an official complaint and evidencial photos. We have received no response, no refund of any sort, no apology and they have still got our deposit!!! I ahve emailed, messaged and rung but theyignore you and say they are investigating!! disgusting sevrice never- again I am not reporting them and claiming my money back through my bank

Great location for staying local to climb Snowdon. Lovely apartment for a family of four, good amenities, very clean. Good communication re arrival/departures. Great car park only a few minutes away, free parking included. Great pizza and Indian restaurants within a couple of minutes walk.

We've just had a very pleasant 3 night stay in The Gulls Nest, Whitby. The accommodation is in a great location for pottering around Whitby. The creaks and unevenness of the floors certainly added to the charm. The welcome biscuits were a nice touch. Previous reviews mentioned the lack of sockets in the twin room so we came prepared with an extention lead but found 2 sets of double sockets behind both bedheads. It's situated above a cafe and right next to a pub and to be fair neither were an issue regarding noise, the gulls in the mornings took up that mantle. The shower was more than adequate from a power point of view. I have to say the bits an peices , bed linen etc are of a very good standard. I awarded this place 4 stars rather than 5. This was for the fact there was nowhere to put any items in either bedroom nor the bathroom, under the sofa was pretty bad so I guess the cleaner doesn't move it. Lastly, and again we saw this in the pictures before we went so we were aware, the living space could do with one more comfy chair. The sofa had clearly seen better days! That said we all agree we would definately go back and would recommend to others also. I hope this comes across as it was intended, a balanced and honest review of a quiant little property in a lovely part of the world.

Fabulous cottage in a great location in Whitby. A parking scratch card is provided to allow free on street parking. Only a few minutes into town and lots of fabulous cafes nearby for breakfast. The cottage itself is cosy, set over three floors, and dog friendly! There was a lovely welcome hamper and treats left for the dog. The owner is really lovely and the communication was excellent all the way through. Lots of lovely touches in the cottage such as coffee machine and smart tv. Had a fab time and will definitely be back soon!!

The place itself was immaculate, sadly the fridge freezer wasn't working properly from the outset, eventually packing up on the last night and the toilet roll was really poor quality. That said,we enjoyed our stay overall.Thank you.

Stayed at sunflower cottages northumberland via host and stay. The cottage was fabulous. It was clean and large. Beds were comfortable and provision of bathroom accessories was a surprise. There is even a TV in the bedrooms. We would definitely return. Dont be put off by the financial stuff on damage and insurance. Paying the extra £25 is worth it. Everything there if you needed it. A bit cold at times so take an extra jumper. It is in a place that can easily access the beach, Bamburgh and Alnwick. We even drove to Berwick and took a train to Edinburgh for the day. Seahouses is quite a vibrant area considering it is so small. More life than Bamburgh village. Lots of restaurants.

We are just back from a wonderful stay at Littlebeck house. It’s set in a lovely little hamlet, right next to the ‘little beck’ and close to the railway- the added bonus of hearing the steam train ‘toot’ 4 times a day which was a hit with my 2 year old! It’s literally a 8-10 minute drive to all the attractions in Whitby depending on the time of day, couldn’t have asked for a better location. There’s also the added bonus of a soft play a 3 minute drive away, perfect for the one rainy morning we had. The house itself is beautifully decorated with Hive heating and the comfiest of beds, the decor is beautiful and we loved the comfy sofa. What makes me give it 4 and not 5 stars can be easily rectified- and this would be up there with some of the nicest accommodation we’ve had- The patio and garden are accessed by a side alley- there is no gate, an issue for us with a toddler and a dog. The kitchen was beautifully equipped with all utensils and Crockery, however no other ‘staples’ such as oil, salt pepper and other condiments- this would have been appreciated Limited toilet roll- 4 rolls for 3 bathrooms, and no hand towel in the downstairs loo Cleaning products- we where left with 2 bin bags, 5 dishwasher tablets, one tea towel and 2 j cloths. Some additional cloths towels and a spray cleaner would have been really useful, as the accommodation guide does reiterate several times how it expects the property to be kept clean. The points above are in no way a criticism of the property, mere pointers based on other places we stayed. We had a wonderful week and wouldn’t hesitate to come back- thankyou!
