This cottage looks quaint and lovely from the outside, however as soon as you open the door there is an overwhelming smell of damp, this can be smelt thoughout the cottage. The house sleeps 4 people, however this would be a squeeze, as there is only a 2 seater settee in the lounge area, so not sure where anyone else would sit. Luckily there was only 2 of us. The bedroom is small, but it's fine, although to get to the upper bedroom you do have to climb another set of steep stairs. The bathroom is just off the main bedroom, this is small, but again OK, apart from the small sink, the shelf has been placed over the sink, that you cannot actually lean over it to even brush your teeth, never mind if you wanted to wash your face! Shower is fairly powerful. The last comment would be about the cleaning, the kitchen and bathroom were clean, however the cleaning in the other areas were not great. Unfortunately this is a property I would not stay in again.

Montrose View, 33 Upleatham Street. We (4 adults, 1 dog and a baby) stayed at the property for four days. Cleanliness 4/5 stars. There were some dog hairs upstairs from previous rentals and the bathroom wasn't the cleanest but nothing major. Location 5/5 stars. Great for what we needed. Lovely and close to the seaside and we really enjoyed Staithes and Robin Hood Bay which was a short drive away. Amenities 2/5 stars. For four days we were provided with: - A variety of hair and body products in the bathroom - 4 sachets of coffee (for four adults) - 2 dishwasher tablets and we couldn't get anymore as they only provided a 'starter pack'. Bearing in mind we cooked every night and there were four adults and a baby staying. - 1 bin bag (which wasn't put in the actual bin, we had to do it ourselves). There was no seperate bins for food waste or recycling Environment 2/5 stars. - The living room ceiling light was not working. However, Host & Stay were prompt at replying and offered to send out a maintenence team the next day, which we declined as we had already settled into the property. - No blackout blinds in any of the rooms. As seen from previous reviews for this property the street light is really bright. The wooden blinds are not sufficient and really affected mine and my baby's sleep. - The spring in one of the sofas were broken, there were 4 adults and not enough comfortable seating for us. - The kitchen cupboards were unorganised, pans and mixing bowls just thrown into the cupboard. - There was around 4 hangers per room. No hooks on the back of doors to hang coats or clothes on in a cosy property. Overall, we were disappointed with the basic amenities, particularly for a property that is described as 'Lux'. In my opinion, I would rather have had more coffee, milk and or tea than the beauty products. The property lacked attention to detail and should not be classed as a 'lux' stay. This was our first time with Host & Stay, we had high hopes but this may be our last stay too.

The property at No35, Narrowgate, Alnwick was very convenient and quite quiet. The apartment was very clean and well set out. It looked lovely but seating was more style than comfort. Could not get Wifi to work, reported and got sympathetic replies but no-one came out to fix it. Taps on the kitchen sink very loose. Overall a good apartment but not excellent. I think the owners ought to come and spend a couple of nights there and see some of the issues the cleaners would not notice [but it was very clean].

A great few days at this stunning home. It looked good on the pictures and equally as good in person too! There was a real feel of quality in every room and we lacked for nothing in there with lots of useful touches in the kitchen. The log burner was a real bonus too. All rooms were spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable. To top it all off the pub next door was great as well!

Excellent location, very comfortable, clean and tidy in a great location, really enjoyed our stay. The Lobster pot is right in the centre of whitby next to both the train and bus station. The parking scratch card was a lovely touch.

Great comfy place, very close to the centre where there's lots to see and do. Lots of nice local restaurant and plenty of places to eat if you are gluten free like myself. The only fault we could say is the access to High Tide is via a lot of steps which can be difficult going.

We stayed in a comfortable, well equipped and fairly spacious property within walking distance of Durham town centre. The property has lovely views and can sleep up to 6 people comfortably. The property is clean and well presented, and the owner has made the property a lovely place to stay with books and other pamphlets that are useful to explore the area. The only areas for improvement is that some of the doors needed some oil to stop the squeaking, and more mirrors are needed in the bathrooms. Otherwise we would happily stay at the property again, and would recommend it without hesitation.

We stayed at Kulla Loft in Harrogate for 3 nights and it was perfect. Easy check in and great guide book provided with all the information you need. Ideal location and the apartment has everything you need.

Highly recommended. The booking process was clear and simple. The apartment was 1st class in a fantastic location and far larger than I imagined. The guide provided was very helpful and covered everything you could possibly need. If you are planning a trip to Scarborough, you won't find a better place to stay, I think it is that good.

20 Hall Garth is a charming well-appointed house and suited my family of four. It is on a quite street close to the centre of Pickering and minutes away from Pickering castle and Pickering train station.

Charge £95 for cleaning. Previous guests dirty towels hanging behind doors. Supposedly clean towel badly stained. Disgusting stain on mattress protector. Dog friendly policy not made clear until after booking and too late to cancel without loss of payment! Charge a £250 damage deposit and retain £10 admin fee - again not clear at time of booking. Downstairs toilet not flushing correctly (reported by a previous guest months earlier) Router and connections on floor in a tangle of cables - neither child nor fig safe No working exterior lighting No complaints entertained unless you make them whilst still at the property.

What a difference a year makes. Left this company as useless. They were making more money out of our properties than we were! Had guests moan about there lack of customer service also.
