Recently had to cancel a stay due to an emergency situation I gave swift notice, later received around 6 messages saying refund is on its way now saying no refund..This is just a warning to stop anyone else having my experience, Recent update after Booking.com took up my complaint they still wouldn't budge on a refund..Avoid this place at all costs

We liked the spacious rooms, the location (within walking distance of Canterbury’s centre), and the convenience of nearby supermarkets and amenities. What we didn’t like were the cleanliness and the communication. Cleanliness Surfaces—including floors, tables, and the kitchen area—had a sticky film, suggesting they’d been wiped with a dirty cloth rather than cleaned properly. The hob was dusty and greasy, and the grout in the bathroom showed black mould. The previous guests hadn’t cleaned the kitchenware or microwave, and it seems the cleaning service didn’t check or clean them either. We found the mop and bucket still wet and dirty, which was unpleasant and unprofessional. Communication I requested the lockbox code the day before check-in and was told I’d receive it via the app. At check-in time (3pm), nothing had arrived. Despite clearly explaining this, I was repeatedly told to check the app, and responses felt like copy-pasted replies that didn’t address what I’d actually said. After finally entering the flat, we realised the parking permit—promised in advance—was missing. I messaged again, explaining I’d searched thoroughly, yet the response simply told me to “check the drawers.” Eventually, we found it by chance in the mailbox. Guests shouldn’t have to chase for check-in info or search everywhere for a permit—it should be clearly provided. That said, the flat is more spacious than many Airbnbs, and with better cleaning and clearer communication, it could be an excellent place. I hope it serves as a contructive feedback.

Stayed in Kittling Nook in Bamburgh, Northumberland. What a fantastic little place, spotlessly clean, great space and location, we were a party of 4 with two dogs, very quiet on an evening, facilities first class. Only small point which could be improved would be the size of the bath towels, just a bit small, but that's minor really. Now.. the only downside to this property is the parking. Its located next to a hotel, and the 2nd parking spot is located right outside the property, but the gravel path to it is narrow and often blocked by hotel cars, we nearly ended up blocked in for the duration of our stay, thankfully there is free on street parking in Bamburgh, but it does get busy, so just be aware of this should you book Kittling Nook

First the good bits, the apartment is in a fabulous location and is an ideal size for couples plus pets are welcome, however, we felt this place was very tired but more concerning was the level of cleanliness. We arrived and found several things broken or damaged which we reported straight away but the big issue was how dirty and grubby areas of the apartment were. This was not just dust and dirt but mould and cobwebs that had clearly been there for some time. We sent pictures straight away and to be fair we were asked if we wanted someone to come and clean. We were only there for two days so it wasn’t worth it. This is a real shame as it really is an ideally situated apartment but there is something fundamentally wrong with the cleaning.

First time at Cobblers Cottage and unfortunately I doubt we will stay again. Pros - Very good location. Towels and bedlinen very clean and white, smelt very fresh. Cons - Front door not very secure. Stairs as soon as you open the doors, so not to good when you have luggage and it dark. Kitchen has no waste bin. No tea/coffee/milk supplied. Coffee/tea dribbles and general spilling down the wall. Had to buy my own frying pan + dish tablets. No washing-up liquid or dishwasher tablets. Living room carpet is very stained. Windows dirty inside and out. Lots of dog hair around the edges of carpet. Cobwebs attached from the wall to side table, been there a long time. Behind sofa lots of dust and debris/spillt drinks down wall. Dog urine up the sofa, which either needs replacing or a good clean. Windows don't close properly, so draughty and noisy. No handrail upstairs. Lightbulbs need replacing as do batteries in the clock. Radiators in top bedroom not working. This cottage could be lovely and if all of above was rectified I may stay again. Carpets on stairs and bedrooms where lovely and new. It was just the living room. I do think a welcome pack would be appreciated, just the basics. Coffee/Tea, pint of milk and maybe a pack of biscuits. Washing-up liquid/dishwasher tablets are a must, along with kitchen bin. 1 star for bedding and towels Approximately £300 for 2 nights for 2 people and 2 dogs very over priced.

We stayed at the stables for a couple of nights for a bit of relaxation and that’s what we got. The private entrance was easy with a code for the gate and the parking was ample and private. Once we retrieved the key at the door and entered the building we was greeted with a nice fragrant smell inside. The rooms were decent size with enough clothes storage for hanging and the en-suite was a good size with a quality shower. The kitchen was very accommodating plenty of space and utensils with the open plan living area. The outside space was tranquil and peaceful with no road noise or neighbours overlooking. The hot tub was nice and hot and ready which we used first which was private and still able to admire the rolling fields. We did have issue with connecting the Bluetooth to the tub as the volume was very low and we messaged the host about how to increase the volume but never got a reply throughout our stay. The living room both lightbulbs were not working and the bifold doors from there to the outside space wouldn’t open as the key was stuck to which we didn’t contact the host about it because we didn’t get a reply back for the first problem so we used the kitchen bifold doors. But overall I would definitely recommend to anyone to book this as I would too.👍🏼😎
