We booked for 9 of us to stay on Fri 9th may for 2 nights for special birthday celebrations. We went to collect our key to be told the code was invalid to collect the key and advised to ring host and stay, which we did to be told someone will ring us back, but they didn’t! We had to rang them back 40 mins later! to be given another code which failed this happened on 3 occasions! Which took 1.5 hours! To then be told the keys had been picked up 10mins ago but not by us then to be informed it had been double booked! We were then on the phone for 3 hours with host and stay trying to tell us the people in the property would vacate so we could get in! This did not make any logic as why would they vacate to let us in if they had booked too!!! We were told they would vacate and it would be clear while we were out so we demanded they stay on the phone while we went to the property when we arrived there was no answer and nobody in the property ! We were informed that they would be 45 mins so to wait! When then explained this had already over 3 hours! We had missed on booking we had paid a £20 deposit for!! And we’re going to be late for our dinner esvation too! Host and stay then told us we would have to book somewhere else despite we had already paid £800, we had lost a booking which we paid £20 deposit for due to having no where to stay! We eventually had to book a premier inn at the cost of £975 in which they advised us they would refund £950 on Monday! We arrived back after our weekend and no refund! I had to ring and email everyday and was passed from a pillar to post to one incompetent unprofessional person to another ! No one taking accountability, rude staff who did not want to help or were too busy in meetings! No one could authorise or proceed the refund despite having it in written confirmation sent to me!! Eventually after 4 days ringing for over an hour each time! Emailing! They eventually agreed to the refund after threats of ombudsman and social media posts! This company is absolutely shocking! Avoid at all costs!

Really good location in York (Fern apartments), very new. Overall I enjoyed my stay but there were a couple of 'lazy' items which would have been forgiven in an Airbnb but not a serviced apartment. The WiFi code in the apartment was not correct, the correct one is in the handbook. The ventilation was very confusing, the bathroom fan wasn't isolated and instead was connected to all the fans in the apartment so the bathroom does have a ventilation problem hence why it was a bit smelly/residual mould. The furniture was all very cheap and flimsy, someone needs to go there with a spanner!

Beautiful home, really enjoyed our stay for my mother in laws 50th. It had everything we needed, great space in the house for 6 of us and great location to be close to scarborough. Thanks so much!

Stayed at apt 1, for 16 days. We usually come back to Caernarfon regularly to see family. First time stayed here. Apartment has everything that you need, quality furnishing, fittings, kitchen utensils & clean. Location within old Castle Walls easy walking distance everywhere to town centre & promenade. Will definately say here again.

A lovely caravan park a short drive from Hexham. Caravan was amazing and we really enjoyed the hot tub. There was a great pool, sauna and steam room on site too. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend a stay here 😊

What an absolute joke of a company! We arrived to collect the key for the apartment in Liverpool to be told they had already been collected! The booking was made in January for our friends 50th in May. They were prepared to leave us with no alternative accommodation and kept making false promises. After fobbing us off for the whole evening with their lies we eventually managed to find ourselves somewhere to stay. Trying to get them to accept accountability and refund us was like trying to get blood out of a stone! Will definitely never be using this company again! I only gave 1 star because there is no option to leave none!

Very disappointed with this booking we were double booked and had nowhere to stay! There were 9 of us being harassed by the security whilst trying to sort out a refund to stop elsewhere! Apparently happens alot with this company! Avoid at all costs!

Worst service I’ve ever received. Host & Stay double booked our accommodation due to computing errors. Instead of offering support, we were forced to move into emergency accommodation nearby. This accommodation was dirty and items were broken. It was completely unsuitable. We weren’t offered any support during or after this. When we got home, I followed up with a complaint to Host & Stay who failed to respond for a number of weeks. When I finally got a response, I was offered a very small discount on a new booking. Not only did this ruin our holiday and cause a lot of stress and anxiety to the family, but it means we’ve paid for something we didn’t receive. I would ask anyone using Host & Stay to ensure you have cover with your booking / insurance because you won’t receive any support from the company.

Twelve on the terrace- Newbiggin by the Sea. Loved our stay at your beautiful house. It was clean, spacious and had everything we could need. It was a very peaceful location and so close to the huge beach- our dog loved it! We had a lovely 3 night break.... a great base to go explore Northumberland.... but coming back to that view each day was such a bonus. I would recommend and hope to come stay again soon!

Host & Stay were really unhelpful in the fortnight prior to my stay. Their 'handbook' had inadequate information about finding and accessing the property. I phoned on five different days to speak with staff. No one was able to provide the information needed. On multiple occasions I was put on hold and then the call was terminated before the member of staff returned. I also requested being put in touch with someone who was actually familiar with the property - I was promised a call back that never happened. Host & Stay put a landline in the property - however the number is a publicly available number and I was called in the early morning by a member of the public/customer asking for information. I would NOT recommend Host & Stay to others.

We loved our stay here, our place was tidy, kitted out, and nicely decorated! And the view over the water was lovely too. Close to the high street as well :)) thanks !

Wonderful perfect little house. Clean and comfortable and cosy. Would definitely recommend. The communication was lacking personal touch, and the owners did not respond to my text message.

We had a lovely family break in Scarborough staying at the Hideaway was a really treat. It worked perfectly for us my youngest had the smallest room, teenage daughter loved the double bed and balcony in her room and the grown ups had the top bed room with a balcony overlooking the harbour, perfect for a glass of wine in the evening (see photo.) It is a great location to walk to the castle, and into town there’s a near by bus stop to get to Alpamere and the park. We will be booking to come back!

Filthy, only 1 towel between 5 guests (it says towels are provided), plug socket hanging off the wall, rubbish left in drawers, broken shelf, cobwebs, stained bedding, no blinds in main bedroom, bunk beds not safe for use

We booked a two-night stay at 7 Grove, Hartlepool through Host & Stay for £1,100 plus a damage deposit. Despite receiving promotional emails days before, we were not informed the property had been cancelled. After hours stranded with young children (two with additional needs), we were forced into a last-minute replacement that was totally unsuitable — lacking all the key facilities we booked for, and with serious health and safety issues (chemical smells, dead bees, broken flooring). Financially, the experience was a disaster: • £1,100 paid for the original booking (no refund yet) • £280 paid for an extra night due to a medical emergency (forced, not by choice) • £686 was taken from my account without permission (only refunded after I chased them) • Damage deposit still not returned • Food spoiled, extra fuel costs incurred, and a birthday celebration ruined Host & Stay’s only offer has been a discount toward a future stay — completely unacceptable after such a breach of contract, emotional distress, and financial loss. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Extremely poor customer service, serious mishandling of our booking, and complete lack of accountability. Proceed with extreme caution.

Good location for Whitby, with parking which is great. The beds and sofas however were incredibly uncomfortable which left us a few nights sleep deprived!
