Beautiful little cottage and very well equipped for our stay. Great communication from Host and Stay. Everything was lovely and a little fenced backyard for our dog.

Whilst the cottage was nicely done (but clearly has a damp problem), I would definitely not use Host and Stay again. Their customer service and care is disgraceful. I was extremely unhappy to find that they impose hidden charges to cover damage insurance. This should be clearly shown in the total price not hidden in the Terms and Conditions. Attempts to talk to Host and Stay were absolutely futile, they simply hide behind automated or useless emails.

Lovely stay in Liverpool with Host & Stay. Really quick with communicating with me leading up to my stay and everything is exactly as advertised which was great. Good location as everything we needed was within walking distance. Would definitely recommend the apartments and the company!

Stunning accommodation in the heart of Whitby yet quietly hidden away behind the impressive Bagdale Hall. Clean, spacious and with all the mod-cons (ironing board, utility room, en suite bathroom). Has its own parking bang outside the front door. 3 bedrooms. Would love to return in winter and make use of the log burner in the lounge. Only minor gripe is we couldn't get the coffee machine to work but I can't speak highly enough of this place.

A great place to stay for a short beach holiday Five minutes' walk from the beach, we were able to spend most of our time on the beach and in the sea.

Fabulous house to stay in. Had everything we needed. Would recommend anyone to stay there. Whitby harbour just a few minutes away. Perfect holiday stay.

Worst rental property experience ever! This company does not care about property condition and has lows standards of cleanliness and trustworthiness. Our rental, on checkin, smelled awful and was beyond filthy. The light fixtures were covered in months of filth and dust and every corner has cobwebs including every window and doors. The outdoor lighting didn't work on patio or front door! The back patio was covered in months worth of weeks and grass growing up thru spaces between pavers. Then the back patio had 6 bags of garbage that were left by previous renter. The worst part is that we notified Host and Stay immediately and though they guaranteed all our concerns would be remedied, no one ever showed up and nothing was fixed. For an 8 night stay for 2 people they left us 2 bath towels and 1 hand towel only. NO face clothes at all and zero shampoo at all. One quarter sized bar of soap is what we were given for 8 nights. Luckily I found the hidden stash of shampoo and body wash. Don't waste your $ on this awful company. Use someone else, like Air BNB.

We have just stayed at a lovely flat in Liverpool, it was a really great value for 6 of us, clean and modern, well equiped with lovely decor. The host company was easy to communicate with and was very helpful in terms of questions. We even got a parking permit. Thank you for the experience!

Gli appartamenti sono in genere molto belli, ben tenuti e puliti. La comunicazione è ottima, rispondono sempre molto rapidamente, prezzi forse un pochino alti.

Practically Perfect in every way! As a multi generation family of 5 people, the house on Falkner Street was fabulous! More room than we knew what to do with, charmingly & wittily decorated with every modern convenience you needed to make it a home from home. Smack bang in the middle of the Knowledge Quarter and a lovely stroll into town - it met all of our needs. The check in and out process was simply but thoroughly explained and super quick comms when I requested a little local knowledge. Could not recommend enough!

A great location with a well set out apartment, plenty of room to spread out. Easy access to the building. The night life wasn’t a bother with the triple glazing windows. Would definitely stay again

We we stayed in a great holiday home called Caedmon View which is in an amazing location in the grounds of Whitby Abbey. Furnished to a very high standard, parking for 2 cars, dog friendly, great responsive owners. I could go on but just book it and you will see for yourselves how good this place is.

Although the house was as described and comfortable I wouldn’t use host and stay again. They use a dirty tactic to get money out of you the week before you go. One week before your stay you get an email telling you that you must either pay £25 insurance policy or transfer £250 cash as a security deposit (of which only £240 will be returned). If you choose the cash they will keep it for two weeks after departure and deduct £10 when they return it. If you don’t hand it over before arrival they won’t give you the keys. So having paid out the full balance for the house a week before arrival which is at this point non refundable. I have a week to either find £250 cash (off which a lose £10) which they will hold for three weeks (time on holiday and two weeks after) or £25 which I won’t get back. I have never before been charged for a security deposit they have always been refunded in full. When I questioned them they said the £10 covered administration. When I questioned this further they couldn’t give and details of what admin they needed to do but did say it’s not much money. I don’t object to security deposits. But I do object to being put in a position where I suddenly have no choice but to hand over more money or lose my holiday a week before I go. It’s dirty tactics!

The owners have put a lot into the decor, the apartment is lovely and in a great location. Host & Stay who manage the bookings on behalf of the owner really let them down. The cleanliness and maintenance of the property are certainly lacking. I’ve rated 5 stars as most poor reviews go unnoticed, hopefully you read this 5 star review to see what the apartment is really like. Please think about staying at a property managed by Host & Stay, and hopefully they will put this right for the owners. I looked at the good reviews for the property we stayed in, the poor reviews are probably the most honest. We stayed for 2 nights and put up with the issues we had, we wouldn’t have stayed any longer.

The apartment I stayed in York was lovely, in a great location and exactly what I needed. I happily would have given a 5 star review if it wasn’t for the unjustifiable and, in my opinion, un-transparent deposit fees. I booked via air bnb and saw a mention of a ‘fee’ but expected this to be nominal - I.e. a couple of £ to cover an insurance policy for my time of stay. Ohhh no, after booking the non-refundable room I was told I either had to pay a £25 (which I never got back) or £250 (which I would get back in up to 4 weeks time minus a ‘£10 admin fee’). This is an absolute joke. The £25 is not a nominal amount for anyone in this tough economic climate so I opted for the latter. Putting me out of pocket for £250 (which was more than I paid for air bnb!!). And I will only get it back in 4 weeks (meaning you’ll keep my money and earn interest on it in your bank account) and then charge me a tenner for the privilege!! It’s an absolute joke. I’ve used so many airbnbs and other accommodation providers and never had to do such a thing. So all of the others seem to have found a way around accidental breakages/ damages without imposing unfair and expensive fees on their customers. And not only this, but you didn’t disclose the amounts until after I booked- which is misleading and under-handed. Then when I called to complain the agent couldn’t give a monkeys and just told me “it is what it is”. Fabulous service as expected! So there we are, rant over. In summary- great apartment just such a shame about the way the company treats people happy to pay for a lovely getaway but not extortionate and unfair fees which only line the bottom of their own balance sheets. Bye 👋

The Teahouse Alnwick Northumberland Nice apartment, but spoiled by a couple of things. Firstly you are bombarded with emails and when they appear on my phone they seem to be the same, because each one is in a chain, it took me a while to realise you have to keep Scrolling down to the bottom of the email to read the new piece of information! Not good. Second your surprise additional charge for potential property damage! Either a non refundable £25 or some extortion racket where I give you £250 and may eventually get it back but you still charge me £10 “admin” not nice . Next the apartment we had was on the first floor, as I said, smart, well laid out and comfortable but the apartment above us has no real sound proofing as it is in an old house. The noise from the occupants was really loud, every footfall and closing of doors really carried. Basically if they were up and awake, so were we!! And when they used the washing machine the whole apartment vibrated. We left after 2 nights to go home and get some sleep.
